Kate Bosworth x Topshop Festival Collection

I'm usually not that much into "star-style" as most of the A-list's outfits are the outcome of a talented stylist's work, noone gets to see. However, there's this one actress whose style I simply adore - Kate Bosworth, the beautiful girl in the amazing pictures for Topshop above.

She recently teamed up with the British high street label again and together they launched the Topshop Festival Collection that's inspired by her boho-chic. Style one and two are clearly my favorites and I think Ms. Bosworth is definitely the reason for my next purchase at Topshop.

The Fashion Apartment Lightens Up

As the fashion apartment moved to Berlin in April, interior and decoration is a big topic at the moment. As much as I love nice furniture, prints and all kinds of decoration - my real passion are lamps.

The right lighting can change the whole atmosphere of a room and for me there's nothing worse than really bright fluorescent light (as you often find in hospitals and unfortunately in a lot of households, too). It just gives me headaches and immediately sets me in a bad mood.

However - the right light is only complete if it's surrounded by a really nice lamp. Those four beauties above are my absolute favourites and I think they suit the fashion apartment quite well.

so I hope one or two of them will find there way to my Berlin home and brighten up the lounge, the dressing table and the wardrobe very soon.

You can find them here, here, here and here !

Hello Tiger

Shirt: Kenzo // Blazer: Milkaya Laijah // Jeans: Mango // Bag: Michael Kors // Boots: Office

Quality, not quantity, that's something I've heard a lot these days. No matter if I talk to my friends or if i read it on blogs, it's clear that more and more of us tend to avoid tons of high street purchases but rather invest our money in high quality pieces.

But as you can see in my outfit above, high street and high end get on really well so why ban Mango, H&M and Zara from our wardrobes if we know anyway that this is impossibly?

For me and I'm sure for a lot of you too, mix and match is definitely the key and usually does the trick. There's nothing more awful than a total designer look and nothing more wonderful than a well combined high street meets high end outfit, n'est-ce pas?

In(stagram) love with my flat.

The Berlin flat and I have been sharing a roof for one month now and i must say that I am so happy I found you, my beloved little place. You offer enough room to all of my small and not so small possessions, both colours and minimalsitic design suit you well, you're bright, you're warm, you're old in a charming way and you're so nice that even the cherry trees and birds in the garden prefer to be as close as possible to you.

You're the perfect place because not only I but also my friends love to hang out with you and therefor I am more than happy to stay with you for a while.

Let's walk.

Shirt: Promod // Skirt: Aubin & Wills / Shoes: noname // Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Oh hello sun. I didn't even know you existed in Berlin but apparently you were just hiding really well during the past weeks. I am still a little sceptical as you can see on my expression in these pics above. Good job I put on those black tights this morning as I started raining only a couple of hours after this sunny photo session. Anyway, it seems that Berlin summer is not far away and there will be no need to cover up our legs anymore. Can't wait!

Finally Back!

Trench: Autograph // Jeans: H&M // Boots: Office // Shirt: Monoprix // Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Finally. After two very very busy months filled with searching for a flat, temprorary flat solutions, moving, getting back into uni life and another million things, I'm starting to settle down a little bit. The dressing table has a new beautiful place to stay, the wardrobe is happy about it's little corner in my bedroom and the lounge really can't complain about not having enough space or light.

Of course, there is still an awful lot to do but the most important thing is that we have a roof over our heads, right? ..and another very important thing: the fashion apartment is able to communicate with you on a more regular basis now as we finally have internet since Thursday!

Voilà. So things are getting back to normal again and I will hopefully show you very soon my new Berlin home!

Petit Update

The Fashion Apartment is not amused. The wardrobe doesn't get fed with new clothes, the lounge has nothing new to read and the dressing table feels more neglected than ever. But what can I do? I've been so busy searching for a place where my three fashion apartment friends can stay that shopping is not at the top of my to-do list at the moment. But no worries, those boring fashion times will be over soon as a place is found and we can hopefully change from our temporary home to our real home. And then you can expect loads of new exciting posts. I mean, it's Berlin we are talking about!

Busy Bee

As you might have noticed, the fashion apartment has been pretty quiet during the last week. The reason for this unusual silence was my big Berlin mission - the flat hunt! Oh yes, you got that right, the fashion apartment is going to move to the German capital soon and my wardrobe, my dressing table and the lounge are craving a roof over their heads! So I spent last week running from one flat to the other, from North to South, from East to West and tried to find the perfect new place for my wardrobe & co.

The perfect outfit for the flat mission? A pair of loose trousers (H&M), boots that are not too high so you can run if you happen to arrive late at a flat viewing (Office), a comfy shirt,(UO), a big enough clutch for all the requested documents (Monki) and for the right portion of luck my favourite necklaces from Pascale Monvoisin

Black & Blue

via Polyvore

When I was 10, a girl at school looked at me and said: "what? you are wearing a blue shirt with black trousers? what a no-go!"

I always thought of this as my first fashion faux pas (I'm sure there were some more but this was the first time someone actually commented on it) and since then I tried to avoid the combination of black and blue as much as I could.

Today I think - how stupid! Doesn't the blue sweater just look amazing with the black leather trousers?! I could definitely think of way worse combinations! So I can't wait to bring a nice and cosy dark blue sweater in my life, put a pair of black trousers on, add some white converse trainers and a white bag and just feel fabulous!

and who knows, maybe I will bump into that girl from school and teach her a little fashion lesson..?

hair down - trainers on!

Shirt: Topshop // Leggins: Zara // Bag: Michael Kors // Trainers: UO

My wardrobe and dressing table are slightly confused. The reason for their confusion is a small but mighty change in my look. As you may have noticed, I usually wear a pony tail or a high bun - and I've been doing this for years! For some reason I just didn't feel comfortable letting my hair down even though my dressing table always sighs when I tame my blonde thatch in the morning. However, I decided it's time for a change in 2013! So I take the step and let my hair down every now and then and I must say.. I'm getting quite used to it!

Different change of habits: there are trainers on my feet. And not because I'm going to the gym. I usually love to wear heels, no matter if it's high heels, boots or even sandals. Now don't get me wrong, we are not talking about killer heels here, a decent 5 to maximum 10 cm usually does the trick for me. Ballet flats are ok, too, but trainers were barely seen on my feet on the street (unless I went out jogging). So when I got those bad boys form Urban Outfitters I could litterally see question marks popping up in my wardrobe: "What is she thinking?" "Since when am I storing her gym equipment?" "Where is the bloody heel?!"

Well, it took some time for my wardrobe to get used to the fact that those trainers are a part of my clothing repertoire and today it even approved of the outfit above.

So, to sum it up: Me, a big creature of habit, is starting to change some things lookwise and I have to say it feels very good so far - my hair is free & my feet don't hurt.

I guess I killed two birds with one stone here?
